- Start looking for a new role elsewhere?
- Create a new role for yourself?
- Can you create partnerships with other key players.
- Or Create a new role for yourself where you are?
- You're running your own business and your market has changed.
- What opportunities does this present you? Can you see your situation as an opportunity rather than as a problem?
- Can you sell your superiors on a new or expanded role?
- What are their needs? And what new services could you offer them?
- It won't work to simply pester people for a move.
- How would moving you benefit another part of the business?
- If your chief skillset is squeezing the last milk out of cash cows, then you might be of most value where you are.
- Is there a bigger cash cow (another division) that could use your services?
- Even star divisions can benefit from added efficiency.
- Whatever your skillset, the key to moving is to find an internal customer who needs what you have to offer.
- This is not a matter of presenting your experience to prospective buyers and leaving it to them to figure out how best to use you.
- That's about as good as sending customers junk mail.
- How can you be more proactive, to show prospective customers how you could add great value to their business if they take you on?
- This means analyzing what they are doing and devising an irresistable proposal to enhance their business.
- Best to work with them from the beginning to gain early ''buy in''.
