Do you feel like you are stagnating?

What are your options?

  • Wait and see.
  • Re-evaluate what is most important to you - your values?
  • Start looking for a new role elsewhere?
  • Create a new role for yourself?
  • Can you create partnerships with other key players.
  • Or Create a new role for yourself where you are?
  • You're running your own business and your market has changed.
  • What opportunities does this present you? Can you see your situation as an opportunity rather than as a problem?
  • Can you sell your superiors on a new or expanded role?
  • What are their needs? And what new services could you offer them?
  • It won't work to simply pester people for a move.
  • How would moving you benefit another part of the business?
  • If your chief skillset is squeezing the last milk out of cash cows, then you might be of most value where you are.
  • Is there a bigger cash cow (another division) that could use your services?
  • Even star divisions can benefit from added efficiency.
  • Whatever your skillset, the key to moving is to find an internal customer who needs what you have to offer.
  • This is not a matter of presenting your experience to prospective buyers and leaving it to them to figure out how best to use you.
  • That's about as good as sending customers junk mail.
  • How can you be more proactive, to show prospective customers how you could add great value to their business if they take you on?
  • This means analyzing what they are doing and devising an irresistable proposal to enhance their business.
  • Best to work with them from the beginning to gain early ''buy in''.
