No Development Needs
Written by Mitch McCrimmon
Good enough as you are?
- Successful people are good at getting what they want.
- Their success blinds them to possible weaknesses.
- If not very introspective, they don't dwell on themselves.
- Successful people take action instead.
- They can also convince everyone that they are right.
- If you're successful what could possibly be a weakness?
- How aware are you of the impact you might be having on others?
- Great success also leads to doing the same thing over and over. Why change a winning formula? The benefit of occasional failure is developing greater adaptability and a wider perspective.
- Are you staying too close to your comfort zone? If you always do only what you are good at, how can you grow?
- How willing are you to challenge yourself, to take the risk of doing something completely different for the sake of your development?
- If you're not aware of any development needs, can you get feedback from your key stakeholders, customers, team members or partners?
